Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Hooksight (the "Service"), operated by Beecom Inc. (주식회사 비컴, Business Registration Number 571-81-02187), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account Data (Paid Users)
- Email address (for account management)
- Payment and billing information — processed by Paddle.com Inc., our payment provider. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Subscription plan and usage counts
2.2 Extraction Data
- URLs you submit for extraction
- Extracted transcripts, metadata, and AI-generated outputs
- Extraction history (stored in our server database and your browser localStorage)
2.2.1 Video Source Files (transient)
When caption metadata is absent or does not match your UI language, the Service downloads the source video temporarily so speech-to-text and on-screen OCR can operate on the real audio and frames.
- Stored for: only the duration of a single extraction request (seconds to low minutes)
- Deleted: immediately after text extraction completes, in a
finallyblock so that errors do not leave residual files - Retention: zero — no caching, no redistribution, no training-data use
2.3 Automatically Collected
- IP address (for rate limiting; not stored long-term)
- Browser type and device information (standard HTTP headers)
- Usage analytics (extraction count, model used)
3. How We Use Your Data
- Email — account management and service communications
- URLs submitted — extraction processing and duplicate detection
- Transcripts — display results, history, and export
- Video source files — temporary download for speech-to-text and OCR when captions are missing or language-mismatched; deleted immediately after extraction
- IP address — rate limiting and abuse prevention
- Usage metrics — service improvement and plan enforcement (aggregated and anonymized)
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not access your social media accounts beyond the extraction you request
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for marketing
- We do not use your extracted content to train AI models
- We do not track your browsing activity outside the Service
5. Third-Party Service Providers / 개인정보 처리위탁
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers below, each of which has its own privacy policy:

한국 개인정보보호법 제28조 (처리위탁 고지): 위 표는 개인정보 처리위탁 수탁자, 처리 목적, 위탁 기간을 명시합니다. 정보주체는 위탁 거부를 원할 경우 회원 탈퇴를 통해 처리위탁을 종료할 수 있습니다.
6. Data Security
- All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS
- Input validation on submitted URLs and server-side rate limiting to mitigate abuse
- Server-side processing of sensitive values uses memory-only variables with immediate cleanup
- No sensitive data is written to server logs
7. Your Rights / 정보주체의 권리
All users may access their extraction history in the Service, delete individual history items or their entire account, and export their data via SRT, VTT, or Excel.
EU users (GDPR) have the rights of access, erasure, rectification, data portability, and to object to processing. California users (CCPA) have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@hooksight.com.
한국 정보주체 (KR users, PIPA §38)는 개인정보 열람, 정정·삭제, 처리정지, 손해배상 청구의 권리를 가집니다. 본 권리 행사 요청을 받은 경우, 당사는 요청일로부터 10영업일 이내 (10 business days)에 처리 결과를 회신합니다. 요청은 support@hooksight.com 으로 보내주십시오. 정보주체는 한국인터넷진흥원 개인정보침해신고센터(privacy.kisa.or.kr, 국번 없이 118)에 분쟁조정을 신청할 수 있습니다.
8. Cookies
We use minimal cookies and browser storage: a session value for authentication, and a local history store for extraction-history persistence (which you can clear via your browser settings). We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies beyond basic usage counting.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy
